This Alexandria in-home newborn session will about make your heart melt. I have simply LOVED hanging with Christine and Brad for the past 2 months. We got to celebrate the change of a command for him and capture some really fun images at his squadron on base and then don’t get me started on their BREATHTAKING maternity session you can see HERE in Old Town Alexandria. We’ve laughed, we’ve spent time talking about parenting and military life and it’s just been a great pleasure watching them prepare for their sweet baby girl Teagan!!!! When Christine went into labor, I was just so excited for her!!! I knew that she would power through labor and delivery like a champ, after all, she was taking SPIN CLASSES almost up to the day of delivery!!! Talk about my hero!!!!!
I couldn’t wait to get my hands on that sweet newborn baby girl though. I got to hang at their home in Alexandria, VA on a Wednesday morning and spend about 2 hours just letting them be parents. Photographing sweet moments in her nursery. I LOVED that I walked in and there were pictures framed and hung in her room of the maternity session I shot. Moments that will forever be a part of their lives. To know that soon, these newborn pictures would join them really made my heart warm though.
When I do in-home newborn sessions, I always tell my clients, it’s a relaxed setting. I want them as comfortable as they need to be. So Jammie’s are welcomed, hair up in a messy bun no shoes and leggings if they want. I do prep them for the area’s I’ll be looking to shoot in. The nursery being one of them. So I urge them to prep before the shoot, sometimes before the baby arrives so they aren’t rushing around exhausted trying to clean and prepare for my arrival. Christine and Brad finished her nursery weeks before her arrival and chose to do the session in her nursery and their spare room. The rooms were perfectly lit with window light, neat and beautifully styled. It made for a perfect spot for them to snuggle and take in all the fresh baby smells of their sweet daughter. Teagan is so incredibly lucky to have these two as parents. I just know she will grow up loved. I can’t wait for hopefully first birthday shoots and annual family pictures to document her life as long as I’m in the area for them!!!!
