The National Shrine Grotto at Mount St. Marys here in Maryland was gorgeous! I love driving towards Frederick, Maryland. Once you get past the interstate you hit the mountains of Maryland and there’s a beautiful peace in the rolling hills on both sides of your car as you drive closer and closer to the Pennsylvania border. When I met Morgan and Kevin there for their engagement session. We had originally wanted to have their session during the winter at their venue the Antrim 1844 during Christmas time, but a couple of hiccups happened and we had to move the session to the early spring. It’s funny how it all works out in the long run.
We spent about an hour and a half walking and whispering through the Grotto. See the National Shrine Grotto at St. Marys is one of the largest places to worship in Maryland. Most of the grounds are there for prayer and reflection so I had to constantly remind myself that when I spoke, I had to be much quieter than I usually am. But it made the engagement session honestly sweet and really meaningful. Along our walk through the grotto, while shooting, Morgan was my tour guide. She shared facts that I had NO idea about different Saints and what they represented and how they became. I loved every minute soaking up the facts all while Kevin tried to talk Morgan into letting him pick her up for a picture. She was nervous. She had a beautiful Navy dress on with the most classic shoes to match. I think personally the picture came out so fun and Kevin picked her up and I think loved every minute holding the love of his life in his arms and being fully responsible for her safety while on that hill!
I’m so excited for their upcoming wedding day, the last time I was at the Atrim it was FABULOUS, and I cannot wait to see these two again.
