Mount Vernon in Baltimore is a FANTASTIC place for engagements. Laura and Tom live right in the heart of Mount Vernon and I was able to meet them at their apartment and we simply walked and had an amazing session!!! Mount Vernon reminded me of smaller area’s along New York City’s upper east side. Brownstones and hanging plants from windows, with well manicured courtyards with little bistro table and chairs for people to sit and enjoy the weather. Mount Vernon had cobblestone streets and some homes still had those carriage steps that helped you get in and out of carriages from back in the day. So many beautiful row homes are required by Baltimore County like many historical cities such as Charleston to keep their character right down to the brick and doors you can replace and fix things with!!! Laura and Tom are simply the cutest couple I’ve ever seen! Laura calling Tom “honey” and being polite in everything she had asked of him. One thing I remembered about Tom when they met in my Severn home office (they were my first clients to meet me in my new office!!!) was how simply smitten and adoring Tom was. He held her hand the entire meeting, constantly looking at her and smiling at her excited facial features when we talked about their wedding. I LOVED IT and it didn’t change since our last meeting. Tom was just as attentive and loving as I remembered him to be. It warmed my heart to see that love between two people. Not that I don’t see it all the time in my couples, but each one is different. They all have their own way of showing affection, and being around one another and this was something special about Laura and Tom.
Laura and I simply must have been in each other’s brains the entire session in Mount Vernon. From color choices, hair choices to the way I posed her and she just FELT where I was going before I could even spit it out!!!! We did a quick change of clothes and headed to Federal Hill in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor as the light came to an end. We crossed our fingers on parking, and prayed that the clouds that seemed to be coming our way would hold off just enough to sneak 10 minutes on Federal Hill. We got just about 10 minutes. The sun set, and the lights from the buildings on the Inner Harbor lit up and we hugged as the wind picked up and the dark clouds literally rolled in. By the time I got to my car, rain started pouring down and I said “Phew that was close!!!!!” I can’t wait for their 2019 wedding! I just know it’s going to be a night to remember.
