It’s always good to be back at the Portsmouth Woman’s Club in Hampton Roads. One of my favorite venues back home and Amanda and Matt have an epic love story. One that starts with Instagram. Yes, yes, Matt hit on Amanda via DM….. classy right??? Hey, I don’t judge My BEST FRIEND slid into my DM’s years ago asking if I wanted to get coffee because she loved photography and knew our kids were the same age. We were pretty inseparable since. Just like Amanda and Matt. Except well, Erika and I didn’t fall in love and get married! ha ha Amanda actually fell in love with the boy that couldn’t let her say no. He made her laugh, he made her smile and most importantly; he made her feel like she was the most important woman in the world. I’d say sliding into her DM’s was the best thing that happened to the both of them and I’m willing to bet Amanda would do it all over again if she could. When I talked to Amanda over Facetime I instantly got off the chat and felt like she HAD to be mine. She was passionate, she was happy and she was IN LOVE. I felt like we instantly connected. We laughed for an hour and I couldn’t wait to hug her in real life!!!! I mean, we text and generally don’t type words… just GIF’s ….. When we talked about music choices we basically just shared Apple Music to each other going through new, different love songs and then she shared the best song ever to walk down the aisle too. This song “I Get to Love You” by Ruelle makes my heart want to burst. I literally envision walking down the aisle to my own husband to this song.
Amanda and Matt had one heck of a wedding though! Matt’s mom smiled from ear to ear as she danced with her son, Amanda’s big brother cried when he saw her and barely got down the aisle with her on his arm. He boasted to me how much his baby sister mean to him. He said he would do just about anything for her. Amanda’s sister-in-law Kelly helped her line up a STELLAR vendor list, Amanda’s choice in burgundy, gold, and blush made my romantic heart swoon. Her gown from Studio I Do’s had an incredible romantic train on it and she had the perfect updo and lip color to seriously make you die!!! Her gold chivari chairs with ivory sashes laced on the backs lined the back row of their ceremony site, flowers and more ivory draping hung from their wooden arbor that they promised I DO in front of. YUMMY cupcakes for dessert and a Photo Booth for guests to leave notes with from Boardwalk Rentals! Nothing stood in their way. Not even mother nature. The forecast was calling for rain…and a lot of it. The best part about it…. when Amanda was told rain was coming, she responded with “Oh, it’s going to rain?”. She didn’t even flinch. She knew she regardless of what was on it’s way that Friday, she was marrying the love of her life. That my friends, is the attitude EVERY Bride should have. The ability to just breathe, enjoy the day for every minute that it’s worth. It’s unbelievable how enjoyable the day can be when you just relax and let those are running your day do their jobs!! The sweetest private last dance ended the night as guests left and Amanda and Matt had the dance floor to themselves. Again, another perfect wedding for the books!!!!
