This engagement session at Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis was one for the books. What a weird and SAD time for our industry. Weddings are being rescheduled; businesses have been shut down for what is usually the beginning of wedding season. We are in entirely uncharted territory. Claire is a scheduler, however. We’ve had her wedding booked since LAST FALL, and she’s getting married in 2021! Our engagement session she knew she wanted for springtime, but COVID had other plans for April. We were forced to reschedule and then reschedule again, and then once more for rain. I told them to have faith. I always tell my brides that a better day is ahead of you when you have to reschedule. This was so true for Claire and Kylan.
We had a perfect 80-degree afternoon in Annapolis and the Quiet Waters Park practically to ourselves vs. a 90-something humid Maryland afternoon the week prior with 72% chance of thunderstorms. When we got to Quiet Waters Park, we found the BEST spots to shoot at! Even if the reflection pool wasn’t filled. We got to take our time and talk, and Claire got her twirl like she wanted so badly. Her floral gown from LULUs was one of my favorites ( I wore the same dress but in Nude for our family session this past fall!), and Kylan stuck with his personality and had the most ADORABLE flamingo button-down shirt on. When Kylan walked up to me and introduced himself, I admitted that I was pretty smitten with his name. It was fun, and I realized then he was too! I could see why Claire loved him so much. He was SO funny. His smile was infectious, and Claire smiled and laughed the entire time. They made my job SO easy. The one thing that was so incredibly hard was not being able to hug them when we saw each other. Being respectful of social distancing of course- this was my first engagement session since businesses opened back up, and it felt so good.
Now I can’t wait for their 2021 wedding!
