Rachel and Kris’ burgundy and champagne had the perfect day in November to promise forever. It was a CRAZY 80 degrees in Portsmouth at the Woman’s Club and it was perfection! No one needed to warm up with the fire on the porch. No one needed jackets. Rachel opted for a room flip vs an outdoor ceremony because they had chosen a November wedding and regardless of the day she, in my opinion, chose the better option! It was only fitting their day be flooded with VT colors, and details being that Blacksburg is where they met. Kris walked into a bar one night and saw this redhead, ROCKING this red dress across the room. He went over, introduced himself and at some point in the night, told Rachel he was going to marry her. He proved that theory right and she even wore that red dress at their dinner rehearsal to remind him of it. It started at Tech, he proposed at Tech READ HIS PROPOSAL at HOW HE ASKED.
From the stellar choice in vendors ( KELLY GISH YOU SLAYED THOSE FLOWERS!!!) to the GORGEOUS and pretty well-known wrap dresses from LuLu’s that each girl can completely make it look like they are wearing a different dress to the Hokie colored streamers each guest got to wave as they walked down the aisle they couldn’t have gotten a better day. Their rose gold wedding rings made my heart stop with Beloved Immortal’s “Ever thine, Ever Mine, Ever Ours engraved in his ring (where’s my Carrie and BIG fans at?????) AND PLEASE LET’S TALK ABOUT RACHEL’S CLASSIC MAGGIE SOTTERO dress!!!!!! She was channeling Grace Kelly like something FIERCE with her mix of pearls and rose gold and diamond jewelry and that HAIR!!! My classic heart was running a mile a minute with excitement!!! However, who could honestly think anything less than Kris ADORED Rachel though, his hand made it to her face everytime he kissed her. I’m pretty sure if given the opportunity, Kris would grab a boombox throw it over his head and play a love song as loud as he can like in the movie 1980’s Say Anything and serenade her!!! Erika and I couldn’t stop talking about how much he JUST LOVED HER. This blog is huge so I’m going to stop talking and let you scroll.
